Zhuang people have used Sawndip characters to write various pieces of literature. Among the Sawndip literature, “the Orphan Girl and the Rich Girl” is a fairy tale that is regarded as very similar to the Western folk tale Cinderella. The Zhuang title is "Dahgyax Dahbengz". “Dah” indicates female, “gyax” means orphan, and “bengz” means rich. This paragraph is adapted from the story of “the Orphan Girl and the Rich Girl” and written by the generative characters. Digging into the story, we can see the connections between different cultures.

The English translation:

Dagya and Dabeng were half-sisters. After Dagya's parents passed away, her stepmother abused her. On the day of the Hawfwen Festival, the stepmother let Dagya stay at home. Her biological mother turned into a crow to help Dagya and asked Dagya to wear gold earrings, green silk clothes, and golden shoes to go to the festival. To avoid the handsome prince, she lost one shoe. The prince used the shoe to find Dagya. The two fell in love and got married in the end.
